The British Invasion

Our church hosted the Keach Conference at the end of September, and we were privileged to have Malcolm Watts and his wife, Jill, stay in our home after the conference. I tried to keep Daniel from keeping him up too late talking theology, but I wasn't entirely successful. They were warm, generous people who love the Lord and love children. Our kids picked right up on the fact that they were grandparents. :) If we ever get back to England for a visit, they have informed us that they only live six miles from Stonehenge. :)

In that SAME week, we got to see friends whom we haven't seen since we left England eight years ago. They live in Northern Ireland now, and they were traveling to Harrisonburg for a wedding. They contacted us to see if we could meet for lunch. What a surprise! They came to our house, and we had a delightful time catching up and looking back through photo albums to see how much our children had grown. We've both increased our families by three children since we last saw each other. :) It's lovely to have friendships where you can just pick up where you left off, even if it's years later. The afternoon went much too quickly!
(Does anyone else think I look like the kid in the family picture? :) )
